What is Gum Disease/Gum Recession?
Periodontitis starts when plaque remains on the teeth, hardening into tartar. If you don't brush your teeth properly, it can harden enough where it can't be removed. It produces enamel-eroding acids that create dental decay. The bacteria goes underneath the gum tissue, forming gingival pockets. A double major in Chemistry and Biology at Indiana University led to years of study at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. Dr. Edwards achieved his DDS, his Certificate of Periodontics, and his MS. He followed up with certification in a variety of specialty procedures, including teeth in a day and IV sedation.
